HIKING TOUR - PEDRA DA GÁVEA

The Pedra da Gávea tour is one of the most startling and rewarding of all hiking tours in Rio de Janeiro. The summit stands at 842m / 2763ft above sea level. The ascent takes around two and a half hours and, once close to the top, you will probably feel the butterflies. Despite a steep but short hand-climbing (15m / 49ft) there is nothing to fear. It’s all perfectly safe and doable by anyone. From up there, the view of Tijuca Forest, Pedra Bonita, Rocinha favela (one of the world’s biggest ghettos), São Conrado beach, Cristo Redentor, Sugar Loaf, Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon and Barra da Tijuca is very beautiful.Tour duration:

The Cristo Redentor statue, at the top of Corcovado Mountain (710m / 2330ft), is certainly Brazil’s most famous landmark, located in the first sector of the Tijuca Forest National Park. Our hiking tour starts at Parque Lage, a park covered with atlantic rainforest, with a beautiful and imponent old mansion and many century-old palm trees. The ascent lasts about two and a half hours, and from up there the view is very rewarding and it’s considered to be one of Rio’s most privileged belvederes. HIKING TOUR - SUGAR LOAF

The Sugar Loaf compound consists of two hills. The higher one is the Sugar Loaf (396m / 1030ft), and the lower is the Urca Hill (220m / 722ft). There are trails to both of them. The Sugar Loaf hiking tour in Rio de Janeiro takes us directly to the top and requires a quick climb (8m / 26ft), considered easy by the experienced and perfect for beginners. All safety equipments are included. The view of Copacabana Beach, Urca district, Guanabara Bay, Cristo Redentor and many more, is priceless. On our way down, we take the cable car. The Urca Hill hiking is a lighter and easier option, and requires the cable car to ascend to the Sugar Loaf.Tour duration:

HIKING TOUR - BICO DO PAPAGAIO
PHOTOS (8)
After reaching Bom Retiro by car, an idyllic place up in the Tijuca Forest, the Rio de Janeiro hiking tour to Bico do Papagaio starts. In no more than two hours we are able to reach the summit (989m / 3245ft). Named after its rocky formation’s resemblance to a parrot’s beak, it has a very beautiful view of the Tijuca Forest, from an unusual perspective. Since it’s a bit further from the coast, if compared to most of the other tours, it offers a comprehensive understanding of the forest’s magnitude. HIKING TOUR - DOIS IRMÃOS + VIDIGAL FAVELA
PHOTOS (7)
The hike to Dois Irmãos Hill is certainly one of the most interesting hikes in Rio, not only for being a formidable landmark on the right side of the trendy Ipanema and Leblon beaches, but also because of its social aspect. The trail starts on the top of the Vidigal Favela, which we will go up by local van. After hiking for around one hour and a half through the forest, we will reach the summit of the highest mountain, standing at 533m / 1750ft of altitude. It is the perfect viewpoint to get a larger picture of the social occupation and contrasts in Rio de Janeiro, and also of the beautiful way the Tijuca Forest mixes with the city. On the way back, instead of using the local van, we will go down walking and make a tour through the favela. Contact us to book your Rio de Janeiro hiking tours.Tour duration:
